A children’s author, Christina Frei launched Dork Central: Join the Dork Revolution, a website, where kids become Dork Secret Agents, perform Secret Agent Assignments, and share them with each other. The website started as a way to market her book, A Dork Revolution: The Novel, and has become entertainment in its own right.
Frei has had an exciting road to her website. She discovered the power of humor in church of all places, when she was a minister at the Church of Divine Man in Berkeley, CA. Teaching meditation classes, watching people take their steps, performing hundreds of readings, even directing choir, Frei awakened to her own imagination and humor.
This led her to create Hogwarts for Girls, afternoon programs which brought the magic of Harry Potter to life for girls. It included classes such as Initiation to Hogwarts, Spells and Potions, The Great Feast, and Muggles Beasts.
A year later, Frei embarked on her most ambitious endeavor yet, her first, A Dork Revolution: The Novel, a story of a boy and girl in high school who fight a scary administration with dorky and hilarious tactics. It comes complete with spookiness, adventure, romance, and of course, dorkiness.
Continuing on the dorky path, in 2004-2007, Frei gave multiple comic presentations for her father’s company, GTI Technologies, to standing ovations. She was even featured on a cruise to the Bahamas. She was also the corporate trainer and facilitator at that company.
In 2008, Frei has been teaching kids and adults the art of improvisation, facilitating workshops at Wintergreen Inter-district Magnet School in Hamden, CT, and for the public in Stamford, CT. She also performs improv regularly with World Class Indifference all over Fairfield County.
She has also founded two meetups, Artsy Fartsy Movie Meetup and Hip Spiritual Chicas Meetup.
Finally, Frei has been a real estate investor since 2005.
